Setting

Westport offers the perfect setting for an authentic links golf course and is reminiscent of the Old Course at St. Andrews, the home of golf, and the most famous links course in the world.

A proper links course is not just any oceanside golf course. The term "links" historically applies explicitly to land in seaside areas that features sandy soil, dunes, and undulating topography —where the land is not conducive to cultivated vegetation or trees.

Why Westport, Washington?

  • Westport provides a unique golf setting that mirrors many of the finest links courses along the Scottish and Irish coasts.

  • The classic dunes are attractively located next to the coastal town of Westport, WA that offers a working waterfront producing the freshest PNW seafood, world-class sportfishing, and surfing.

  • We are fortunate to have one of the premier golf architects in the world associated with our project in David McLay-Kidd and DMK Design. His courses include Bandon Dunes, Gamble Sand, and the Castle Course at St. Andrews, among others.

  • Westport’s classic seaside setting is perfect for golf and many other family activities.

  • The iconic Grays Harbor Lighthouse, the tallest on the Washington coast, is a classic design feature reminiscent of Turnberry Golf Club on the coast of South Ayrshire, Scotland, and South Carolina's Harbor Town Golf Links.

  • There are many opportunities with the nearby communities to garner interest in golf, including the 1st Tee program and agronomy. Grays Harbor Community College already has a fine golf program that would only be enhanced by a championship golf course.
